Once on the trail, you’ll descend gently into the canyon, surrounded by lush vegetation. During the rainy season, the ground can become slippery, so it’s advisable to wear suitable footwear.

How to get to Calla Lily Valley from Carmel-by-the-Sea
From Carmel-by-the-Sea, head south on Highway 1. After about 15 kilometers, keep an eye out for signs to Garrapata State Park. You’ll find parking along the way. The trailhead to Calla Lily Valley is usually located near mile marker 63. Once parked, simply follow the marked trails through the park to the valley.
Plan your visit early in the morning or on weekdays to avoid the crowds, especially between January and April, when the calla lilies are in full bloom.
